About the Project
Let us look around the world, the progress that we have done, the development in science and technology all these things look really great ain’t they.....Have we ever thought about it...? Come on, who would be such a miser to think about such kind of things right ! Sad but true, we have a lot of people around the world who know nothing about what mankind are doing and what is this all about.
Development of the Computers and IT like field is a major achievement for the mankind. But let us think about them who even don't know what computer is and what are its applicaions. Reaching the such kind of group has been a major challenge now. It is not that the various organizations and local agencies are not concerned about it but all of them face a major challenge with several technical and financial problems.
It seems a little over ambitious job but an easy and simple step could turn the dream into reality. We may not be able to provide everyone with computers but how about at least “MAKING COMPUTERS FAMILIER TO EVERYONE......” And we have an easily fetchable and secure platform for this; “SCHOOLS”. This may sound quite wierd and not in par with the current time but we do have open grounds where a board stands in some unfinished cream walled huts where students are learning. We must be thankful to various NGOs, INGOs and volunteers that their hard work has started bearing fruit and in most of the parts they have been successful to make children going school thus providing them a bright light of education. And slowly they are also trying and looking for an easy and affordable solution for providing computers to those students or at least make them familier with it.
What if we’ll have such a solution which could provide A NO. OF STUDENTS to use a single computer at the same time where they could run small sessions within their predefined area in the screen using a pointer assigned for that part. And this could be brought up into reality by creating a solution using Multipoint development tool brought up by the Micrososft Corp.
AUMI Virtual School System is a project using the Multipoint tool which could not just be a happy medium but a complete solution for this challenging job. Yes, a complete solution for schools where an interactive network like environment and a management system could be created. The major aim of the project is to make every student, teacher or parents familier with computers by making them able to sign in into various sessions where they could run severals sessions either by interacting with the other members logged in or just check out some sessions en passant.
Scope
As the project is aimed for that group of the society that is not familier with computers, the major scope of this project are those rural areas where we want a system in schools which could involve students, teachers and parents in some learning process.
It could be a real solution for schools in those areas that want an easy and economical way to maximize the no. of computer users and that using just a single computer with multiple mice; NOT ONLY INVOLVING THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS but also the PARENTS AND VISITORS as well. Thus making computers a part of their daily experience
Features As this project has been designed using Multipoint development tool it is not just a single user application but a multiple user system that can be used by many users at the same time. The most important feature of this application is that it has a two important sessions; one inside the class and the other outside the class. During the session outside the class, it allows Students, Teachers and Parents to log in into a session where they could have their individual sessions where they could either keep themselves busy into some learning stuff or even interact with other users logged on.
Some of the other features of this project are mentioned below briefly:
ü An Administrator could have a total control over the whole system who is responsible for the entry of users, notice for the Virtual Notice Board and other customizing jobs.
ü Teachers could conduct a session inside the class where they could conduct some objective test inside the class or make the students involved into some learning process.
ü Students could have some group games and sessions after taking the premission of their teachers who would provide them with a passcode for that.
ü A Virtual Notice Board, quiz games, and some of the other learning games could be major attraction for all type of users.
Maximum of 8 users could log on at the same time which could even further be increased upto 16 if necessary
Limitations
We all know that every software has its own bug or some type of limitations. This software has some of the limitations mentioned below:
ü Increase in the number of users could make the screen less attractive.
ü A problem may arise while loading the notice board if the no of users increases but this kind of problem is rare
Further Enhancement
This project is wide and we could add as many extra tools and educational materials as we can so that it could be useful to all the users. Further more, we could have following enhancements on the project.
ü We could bring out this system over the internet so that we could have interaction between schools thus making it global.
ü Collaborating with various organizations working under the field of education and creating a database system with various tools under different topics in an internet server so that the users can enjoy various educational materials and applications.
