TechMeet with Jonathan Murray, Worldwide Technology Officer of Microsoft Corp.

Microsoft MDP Nepal Unlimited Technologies P Ltd organized the TechMeet with Jonathan Murray, Worldwide Technology Officer and Oliver Bell, APAC Regional Technology Officer of Microsoft Corp.
The event was kicked off with a presentation of Allen Bailochan Tuladhar, Country Manager of Microsoft MDP Nepal: Unlimited Technologies P Ltd on what Microsoft is doing in Nepal and the various programs that have been launched to support the entire ICT industry in Nepal, which included in the academic sector, for the ISVs and for partners to be able to identify students to business in terms of internships and jobs.
Jonathan in his presentation talked about ‘Technology, Society & the Next Transformation’ and looked at Moore’s law and how this is going to affect at the technologies that would be available in the next 20 years and beyond. He also discussed on the five trends that would be driving the IT future.
Feroz Mahmud, Country Manager of Microsoft Bangladesh as the subsidiary responsible for Nepal market also spoke briefly at the event to primarily showcase Microsoft’s commitment to grow Nepal market and to look at a long-term commitment.
Oliver presented on interoperability, how open source software should be able to interconnect with other software. He also outlined the principles of Microsoft software to be interoperable with the rest.
